How to Make a Book From Your Web Site
Is this for you?
PixxiBook can make most blogs into a book in a fully automated way because blogs have a well defined linear structure that translates directly into book form. If you have a non-blog site or an unsupported-blog, we can’t process your content automatically.
But, don’t despair! There are ways around this that work for some sites, some blogs and some people. The downside is that these ways do require a a bit more work from you and while we try to be helpful, please understand that we can’t do these for you.
Below we present a series of options in increasing levels of difficulty/effort which may work for you. You are sure to find that one of these options works but towards the end of the list the effort or difficulty might be getting too much for most ordinary humans!
An unsupported-blog with an RSS feed
If your unsupported-blog has a RSS or Atom feed, then we may be able to process it.
Difficulty: 2 Effort: 1
Find your blog’s RSS or Atom feed address and enter it on PixxiBook
If your blog does not have an RSS or Atom feed, you can create one from your blog’s index page.
-
Go to PolitePol.com and enter the address of your blog’s index page that has as many of your blog’s posts as possible,
-
Click the Title button and then select the title element of the first post. Hopefully it will pick up the rest of the posts too. No need to bother with the Image or Description parts,
-
Click Create and then Copy the feed address
-
Go back to PixxiBook and use the feed address you have just copied. Cross your fingers and toes.
If your Feed is incomplete or doesn’t work, here are some workarounds to try:
-
Easy: Export your blog content and then import it into a supported blog host such as Blogger or Wordpress.
-
Hard: If your RSS only contains the most recent N posts, try creating the book. Then in your blog, hide or unpublish the most recent N posts. Refresh the book preview from your MyBooks page and it will pick up the next N posts. And so on! Tiresome, but do-able if your total number of posts is just a few N.
-
Also Hard: copy and paste your content into a supported blog, such as Blogger. Tiresome, but do-able if your total number of posts is just a few N.
